We hired the Villa for our wedding and it was absolutely amazing. The Villa and its surroundings are very spacious and offer a variety of choice for places to hold the ceremony and the reception. As it was hot on our wedding day we opted to have the ceremony in the back in a little garden where trees would provide plenty of shade. But there is also a huge open grass area with stunning ocean views which would be suitable on cooler days. We then had drinks around the pool which was just lovely and moved to the very spacious outdoor deck for dinner. We had set up one long table for 28 people and there was plenty of space. There was also space for a dancefloor and some casual seating for the evening around the pool area. We stayed for a total of five nights around the wedding and it was the best five nights of our three-week holiday. There are eight very spacious rooms, some with children rooms attached at the back. There is also ample indoor space for rainy days. Patricia, who runs the place, keeps everything spotless and will lend a helping hand were ever needed. Oh, and I have to mention, the place has be cooling cell (as in massive walk-in fridge). This was very practical to keep food and drinks cool for the wedding as well as the days that followed. I highly recommend Goose Villa! ~ Jacqueline Roesler, Australia

The food was consistently excellent – even down to the marmalade at breakfast! The service was great, and the room was very comfortable. There’s a nice walk you can take from the grounds, down into a valley behind the property to a river which is great. My only disappointment was that the busy N2 is really quite close by, and you can hear the traffic quite clearly from the grounds. It’s not a big deal, but it’s not quite the rural ideal it could be if it were a couple of miles off the main highway. ~ Anonymous

Standard breakfast buffet. Also nice for families with kids. Extremely helpful staff. ~ Patrick Alberts, Germany

We had a very nice stay. The staff were friendly and professional. The food was outstanding! It is highly recommended. ~ Elmari Laubscher, South Africa
Mark and Wilma are lovely hosts. It is in a nice location, and we had a lovely eight-day stay. It is neat, clean, upmarket, and the food prepared by Mark was awesome. We had a disappointing experience with the spa treatments from Jeremy. We felt it was not professional and we had so looked forward to it. His attitude was disappointing which was so unlike the establishment. ~ Pauline Ngwenya, South Africa
A warm welcome from Sebastian and Shannon and we had an enjoyable stay at Trogon House. The breakfasts were good and well served by their new and very pleasant cook Katje. We found the forests a little oppressive because we prefer open bush veldt and the road to Trogon House very off putting. Another problem for young and old alike was the dangerous board walk particularly in wet weather. They should do something about this potential dangerous problem. ~ Dr Chris de Bruin de Bruin, South Africa
We had a lovely time. Management went the extra mile to ascertain our comfort and catered to our every whim! The staff was friendly and professional. The food was amazing! We shall definitely return. ~ Namhla Mhimhi Madikizela, South Africa

Watch the birds on the river from your bed; explore the wetlands by canoe; relax in a hammock at the pool or swim at one of Plettenberg Bay’s nearby beaches. Enjoy a traditional country breakfast and then go for a short walk along the eco-trail and keep a lookout for otters and birds.
Each spacious, tranquil room has its own entrance and patio with garden and river views; an overhead fan and under-floor heating; a bar fridge and TV with M-Net. The golf courses, game drive, horse-riding, beaches, restaurants and shops just a 10 minute drive away. Monkeys, birds, elephants and wild cats can be visited at the Crags, fifteen minutes away.
Not feeling that energetic. Enjoy the birds in our large indigenous garden; wander along the Eco-Stroll and learn the names of the trees; cook your own supper on a fire next to the river; count the stars.
We speak French, Afrikaans and some German. Children 10 are welcome. We offer free Wi-Fi, so bring your laptop.
This is the best accommodation we had in South Africa, the breakfasts were excellent everthing you could possibly want you could have, fresh baked scones & pancakes to die for. With the river right there & with canoes to use plus the walks & Braai on your own front porch no need to go out in your car. The underfloor heating works very well. Any local information needed was provided by our hosts & eating out was a pleasure so was the exploring. Would make a point of returning on any future visit to South Africa. ~ Caroline Mew, United Kingdom
This really was a farm–the rooms are lined up as if in a stable, one by one. But the rooms are nice, and the bed was very comfortable. You are pretty much left on your own, except for breakfast, which is very good (and a lot). Sue always had a home made specialty bread included with all the other usual stuff served buffet style (except of course the made to order egg dish). We were very comfortable, and it was only a short drive to the downtown area and golf courses and restaurants. You do get the country feeling, and the bird life is plentiful and enjoyable to watch. Kayak paddles are used with the canoes–and you do have to battle thru some lily pads, etc. in some stretches. The pool was bigger than most although we did not have time to use it. ~ Steve & Cathy Kay, United States of America
This was the best B & B of our trip. Everything about it was wonderful – the tastefully furnished bedrooms with ultra-comfortable beds, the location by the river with all the birds, the splendid breakfasts with fresh baking every morning, the friendly and helpful host family. We would recommend anyone we know to stay there for as long as possible! ~ Marlene Lee, France

Regrettably we do not take Matric Rage bookings. Woodland Lodge is situated on the Woodland Estate in Plettenberg Bay. We offer clean and comfortable accommodation at reasonable rates.
We have two self-catering units, as well as the Seagull Cottage available to guests. The lodge overlooks a luscious green valley of virgin forest and it is only 2.5 km from the beach and 3.5 km to the town centre.
I only got to Woodland Lodge after 9 pm. We were warmly greeted by Viv; although it was late, she was fantastic. I was en route to Durban from Cape Town via Plett and East London. My family was tired but we had such a comfortable sleep that we were fresh in the morning for the next leg of our journey – the next 600 km. The bed was fantastic and the hospitality superb. Thanks Viv. ~ Neevesh Maniram, South Africa
This is a very nice place to stay. Very very clean and cosy. It has a nice view. Woodland Lodge offers a quiet place for a getaway. Lovely friendly service, good breakfast. Stayed once before at another location in Natures Valley for the double the price but enjoyed our stay at The Wood more. Highly recommended. ~ Robert Hewitt, Austria

Thanda Vista Bed & Breakfast:
South Africa boasts many beautiful places and we believe that Plettenberg Bay is the most beautiful of all. That’s why we have called our house “Thanda Vista”. Thanda is a widely used word for “Love” in the African languages.
Thanda Vista is an exclusive B&B establishment located minutes from the sandy beaches of Plettenberg Bay. Intimate, exclusive and private, Thanda Vista offers five luxury en-suite bedrooms; a guest lounge with a library, music centre and desk-top computer with free Wi-Fi Internet; a breakfast room with magnificent views of the bay; roof-top terraces for fantastic whale watching; and on-site parking. Your hosts, JP and Petro van der Walt, welcome you to Thanda Vista.
Watch whales while you enjoy breakfast, stroll down to the lagoon, relax on Plettenberg Bay’s pristine beaches, or head out for a round of golf on any one of the Garden Route’s championship golf courses. There are many other activities available in the area, and you can come home at the end of the day to Thanda Vista.
The host JP and his wife are superb, very friendly and knowledgeable. They will tell you about local attractions, make restaurant reservations and order taxis. The room we had was a little on the small side but that really is the only complaint. There was free water in the fridge and the room itself was very comfortable. The breakfasts are superb and JP, although he doesn’t do the cooking obviously takes a great pride in the presentation. The location is about five minutes drive from the centre of town and a short drive to a local shopping centre with amongst other things a supermarket. The nearest beach is about five minutes walk, although it is a beach without any other facilities. All in a good place to stay and one I would thoroughly recommend. All in all a great place to stay ~ Roderick Graham, United Kingdom
Thanda Vista is a fantastic place to stay in Plett. Great location, rooms are lovely and the hosts are incredible! The attention to detail , from the owners, JP and Petru ensured a very special experience. I highly recommend Thanda Vista!! ~ Yvette Jones, South Africa
Very short stay here, but the hosts were still very nice and it was still clear that they take being good hosts very seriously and have done all of the related work (much attention to detail). The house and rooms are very nice, there is free internet which is great. Location is peaceful and convenient although not walking distance to downtown Plettenburg. ~ Eric Greenawalt, United States of America

We were lucky enough to stay at Dolphins Playground B & B for three nights (next time it will be longer!) early February, 2012. Pam made us feel so welcome. She was lovely with help on the area. She even did our washing and ironing! This was a great help on our return. We were lucky to have an upgraded room. Wonderful with sofa and chairs overlooking the most beautiful bay we have ever seen. The breakfast was wonderful – eveything was perfect. Thank you Pam, so much, we WILL be back. Everyone should make this a priority place to stay in Plett. ~ June Hartley, South Africa
Pam made us very welcome on arrival and showed us to a beautiful, well equipped room with panoramic windows overlooking the bay. Within minutes, from the deck, we were watching dolphins just off the beach so the guesthouse is well named! Breakfast on the sun deck looking out to sea was a real pleasure. We requested a continental style breakfast and this was excellent and comprehensive with cold cuts, croissants, fruit etc. The centre of Plettenberg town is a 10-15 minute drive so a car is essential ~ Barry Budd, Egypt
Thank you for the awesome stay, your hospitality was out standing, great view, an absolute must, we will be back. Thanks again ~ Justin Bridger, South Africa

Private balconies are positioned to enjoy the sweeping views of the bay.
Enrico’s Restaurant has a terrace that stretches out towards the ocean in all directions. Along this particular stretch of coastline, it is one of the few places where you can watch the sunset while sipping a glass of wine and watching the waves. Enrico’s food is superb Italian fare, although a taste of the Mediterranean and some South African flavours are on the menu. Every plate is a masterpiece and every meal a lasting memory.
The area around Plettenberg Bay has numerous activities to occupy you. Besides the beautiful beaches, there are attractions such as Monkeyland, The Elephant Sanctuary, whale watching boat trips, a bird sanctuary and two world-class golf courses. The Keurbooms River has ferry trips which take you far inland to experience indigenous forests and the large varity of bird life.
We stayed for 5 nights in the suites, room 6. The decor and ambiance throughout the lodge is tasteful and homely. Thoughtfulness of every detail and kind attentive service from the staff made for a very comfortable stay. The view of the beach and sea added to making this a special place. Enrico’s restaurant on the premises was very convenient for tasty meals. ~ Anonymous, United Kingdom
WOW!!!!! That about sums up our visit to Singing Kettle Beach Lodge & Restaurant. From the minute we arrived we were greeted with big smiles & welcomes and we knew we had made the right choice Our room was clean and comfortable, with the most awesome view, and one of the neatest things about the Lodge is everything is so convenient, especially with Enrico’s restaurant that is situated so close by. This was the first time we visited you, and will definitely not be the last!!!! We want to thank you for making it such an amazing experience. See you soon ~ Marinette Vermaak, South Africa
I think that this was our favorite place on the South Africa portion of the trip. Nothing quite like having a whale doing a series of 5 breeches outside your balcony on the first morning, and then about 6 pods of dolphins journeying by, taking the time to surf in our waves, outside of our balcony on morning two! Yes, that was wonderful. We slept with the sounds of the crashing waves outside our door, and a wonderful fireplace warming us inside. It was a large and comfortable room, with a spacious bathroom, and a large comfy bed. It has its own kitchenette, but we went out for breakfast each morning. The restaurant underneath it is terrific Italian food. We chose to stay on this beach, instead of in Plettenberg Bay itself, and didn’t regret it. We went into Plett for our whale-watching trip, but loved being outside of it to stay. ~ B. Nathan, United States of America

Absolutley awesome… we as a family enjoyed our overnight stay very much and would recommend Wadrift Nature Reserve to anyone travelling the Garden Route or even as a holiday destination as there is so much to offer near by. The chalet was absolutely great, our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful and rather entertaining which was great way to settle in and relax. We enjoyed the pool which was refreshing after such a long drive and a well deserved drink at the pub. Thanks a mil. The Smith Family ~ Yvette Smith, South Africa
Following several busy days in Knysna this was a very peaceful place to stay. Very relaxed and unpretentious, you really felt you could just do your own thing and not have to worry about ‘dressing for dinner’. Having a braai outside the house, knowing that the kids were safe exploring the grounds made for a really relaxing stay here. The accom odation is fairly standard but that is reflected in the price which is great value. Do not underestimate the need for insect repellent! ~ Adrian Jones, United Kingdom

Welcome to Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve. Experience a hidden gem, where abundant wildlife roam the plains, where the distant lion roars pierce the black dark of night and where the African sunset leaves an unforgettable memory. And all of this is just a few minutes’ drive outside of Plettenberg Bay.
We offer the Baroness Lodge for accommodation. The lodge was built in 1822 by the Baron von Pletten, an early South African pioneer and conservationist, who used the lodge as his base to explore the diversity and wildlife of the then, untamed, African landscapes. Each of the spacious 10 double suites open out onto the rolling lawns, and the cool interior welcomes guests on the hot African afternoons. The suites have both indoor showers and lounging bathtubs, allowing guests to relax and unwind.

Did not know what to think when we checked in at first due to the fact that it was so remote and so quiet. But we settled in once we met the other people staying there. It was extremely relaxing and staff could not be friendlier. Dinner was good but they did not have more than 3 bottles of wine in stock for all 6 guests that were staying there(lucky i brought my own).In saying this though, I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for an extremely relaxing night or two in what is close to an authentic safari lodge. We had just come from ten nights staying in four and five star hotels and this was a welcome break from all the formalities and luxurious trappings that come with staying in such hotels. The safari trips were very good and very close-up and the sight of a giraffe outside our window at three o clock in the morning was indeed something surreal. I would definitely stay here again but only for a night or two. ~ John o’Grady, Ireland
It was a wonderful relaxing stay with stunning views, wonderful safaris, wild romantic rooms, breakfasts and dinners and the perfect location if you want beach, the sea(exceptional diving),lagoon and at the same time safari and a quiet romantic place to stay. ~ Robin Schannewitzky, Germany
What an amazing time we had. The staff were exceptional, the accommodation comfortable and spacious – really old world style, but perfect for the setting. Sitting in front of the log fire, drinking a good red wine and watching the giraffes and Nyala walk by across the lawn not 20m away – a really good way to kick back and relax. The game drive was also stunning, lots of animals, not at all skittish – mostly ignored the game viewing vehicle and Kiewiet the guide gave good commentary and ample time to take photos. We will definitely visit again, then to try the horseback safari (no Lion encounter allowed on horse back though). ~ Len Schaller, South Africa

We had a fanatastic stay here, the decor is really marvellous. The setting is idyllic, especially for small children. We really felt pampered here. We were 2 families and the house is split in such a way that we could all be completely private. The linen and make up of the beds was also sumptuous. Rooms with balconies are huge. The bathrooms are magic! Huge showers and bathtubs. The kitchen has a wonderful atmosphere, we really enjoyed spending time there. We were treated to wonderful log fires every evening from 2 fireplaces – one inter-connecting from dining room to lounge – a real treat! I would love to be a repeat guest! ~ Linda Le Roux, South Africa

The unique and most exciting feature of this area is the abundance of marine mammals in the bay, which is flanked by two marine nature reserves and therefore rich in food for the resident whales and dolphins. During July to September every year, the southern right whales migrate to this part of the Indian Ocean to calve. There are boat trips all year round to see brydes whales and dolphins.
We stayed at Swallow’s nest on our way to Addo elephant reserve and enjoyed it so much that we decided to stop there again on our way back to Cape Town and stayed on for an additional two nights. This provided a beautiful environment in which to stay, which was relaxing and welcoming. The breakfast was superb, with the dining area overlooking the ocean. The staff were able to accommodate any breakfast needs, offering home made scones baked that morning. I felt that it was the attention to detail which made the Swallow’s nest so special, such as cotton buds in the bathroom, bath soak, complimentary sherry etc. We would not hesitate to return. ~ Joanne Taylor, South Africa
We had booked what we thought was one of the smaller rooms but this was huge and designed in a mini suite style. The place was clean and the staff friendly and helpful with local places to visit and restaurant recommendations. Easy to find but perhaps not as near to a swimming beach as we wold have liked, this still only being a 3/5 minute drive. Very near to a beach with good walks though. ~ Anonymous, South Africa
Swallow’s nest has an amazing bunch of people who are extremely warm & friendly. The breakfast was super..the best spread that we came across. The B&B is extremely comfortable and luxurious. Gerald helped us choose some brilliant restaurants for dinner! ~ Prabh Singh, India

Keep up the good work you guys are doing…..Feel it its Here. ~ Sipho Mgobozi, South Africa
We booked the apartment (we were two couples) where we were served our breakfast – either in-side or on one of the balconies. This was one of the most convenient and stylish accommodations we had on our trip. It is absolutely worthwhile. However we couldn’t enjoy the near-by beach very much as the weather was very windy and only about 20°C (2nd week of november). As we were not much in contact with our hosts (we had breakfast on our own) I rate the friendliness not at 100%. However they helped us in booking very nice restaurants. ~ Martina Hummel, Germany
Don’t know why we didn’t stay for longer. Really beautiful accommodation with very friendly, helpful hosts. Just beside a beautiful beach. They recommended brilliant activities which we enjoyed so much. thanks so much. Highly recommend. ~ Fiona Brown, United Kingdom
